Best Student Council

Length: 26 Episodes
Episode Length: 25 Minutes
Genre: Comedy

The series is based around a young girl named Rino Rhonda. At the beginning of the series you learn that she is transfering to a new school thanks to help from a pen pal names Mr. Poppit. The reason that this person is helping her is not clear at first, but you also learn that her mother has passed, and that Mr. Poppit is the only person who Rino believes she can rely on. Rino also carries with her a puppet, who is names Puchan (poo-chan). When Rino arrives in town she finds that the apartments she was planning to stay in have been burned down (including her stuff that had been sent ahead), and so she heads to the school to find out what she can do about it, after groveling to almost the enitre town. Little does Rino know that soon her life will be completely different. The school she is now going to has its own student council (I am not going to type out the entire annoyingly long name that I can't even say), Also know as, The Best Student Council. This is not your ordinary student council. In fact, the head of the student council holds more power in her hand than any of the staff working there. This Council also has two divisions in which it can be seperated into, the Assault Squad and the Covert Division.

I won't spread too much information about the series just in case someone actually bothers to read my posts and wants to watch it.

Grading Scale: 1 to 10 (I didn't do this for Fooly Cooly because... well... no, I just couldn't do it)

Visual Effects: 9
Plot: 7
Sound Effects: 9
Follow Through: 10

The Visual Effects were very good; the explosions, movement of characters, their looks, everything was was well done. My only complaint would be about most anime, Firstly Eyebrows don't show through hair. Which is not whay I'm down grading it to a 9. I am actually down grading it to a 9 since they don't seem to show characters quite to their roles in form. While most characters fit thier style, I have to say that 3 do not. Firstly, the Head of the council is supposed to be loved and adored and every one thinks she is the prettiest, this may just be how everyone views her, however, the character doesn't seem like she would be that type of girl. Next is the head of the assault squad, while all the characters are girls, I would have thought that the leader of the assault squad would be slightly more butch, and where things that are less girly when not in uniform, however, the anime does make up for this later on with a little comical side to her. Finally it is the Puppet Puchan. He just looks disturbing, and he is really really weird, I just don't like the art work for him, but I think I can get over it for the series.

Plot only got a 7, why you ask if that got a 7 and the others so high? Because the anime is just a combination of off shoots about characters that Some how lead to a conclusion. The anime is almost never consistent in the storys, there is really only one episode that is more a sequel to the rest, and on top of that, when you find the big plot twist at the end, it is almost obvious, plus they don't play it up afterwards, just treat it as though it had been around the whole time.

Sound Effects got a 9 for good reason. Firstly, there were amazing effects for explosions, cars, crashes, and other sounds which i won't inform on to save you time reading. Secondly, all of the voices were great, but one... and a half. This is the only American girl in the enitre show, they treat it as though she could only speak a foreign language. While it did have some comic effect to the series, they treated it this way throughout the entire series, instead of her voice slowly coming through, one other american does show up in the series, and while sometimes what she says comes out perfectly, otehr times it doens't come out at all, and it bugged me a lot because it was inconsitent.

Follow Through was perfect, as it is based on if they accomplished what they planned and stuck withing the genre. This was a comedy through out, even the dramatic parts, and serious parts had some form of comedy somewhere around. The anime completed its goal in leading you to the conclusion.

Overall this anime was amazing, I would recommend it to anyone who likes comedy anime and ones where the whole thing is based around kick ass girls.

I give Best Student Council an A.
